hi baby boy
this is grandma……………i haven’t written in months i am so sorry. life has gotten tough. u r two years and four months now. you are really starting to communicate like, if mama sys to go get grandma u will say DOOR if my door is closed. your so wonderful and beautiful. u go so bed so amazingly, except this week we had two really rough days where u have been ultra fussy. we watch elmo most of the time on video and you’ve been watching sleepless in seattle a lot with me. when she goes down to the kitchen at night to find some food u say, HUNGRY, in your own way which comes out ..ungry…. and then when she slices the apple sitting at the table you say….apple… it’s so great to finally be able to communicate with you. candy is kitty, haha not sure why but that’s what you’ve chosen to call it. you’ve been at grandpa’s for two days and u went there for thanksgiving and i think that is great .
your fav elmo video where elmo sings with a star is the one with ricky jamay, not sure how to spell his last name but he sounds brittish. i’ll post it.

Your latest words, while singing w/Grandma Session you tried to sing ‘twinkle twinkle’ and you were fifty percent close on the word, I could totally tell you were trying to say it. Let’s see, up, you called Mama, Amy the other day. You said Uncle Casey, I’ll have to ask mama how u said that. You still say more all the time when you not only want food, but drink or more of anything…. ball, you don’t say truck but you go and get it when we tell you too. You played out in the driveway with the hose the other day w/Grandma and Uncle Casey and Jaynie,….I took video I still have to upload it. Mama told me a couple of other things you said yesterday but now I can’t remember……………………

Well Gramma hasn’t been very good about keeping up on this blog, but I have been writing some in my journaling, so someday you’ll have to read that. Today, well yesterday, Wednesday 18th you said Gummie Bear clear as day, mama and gramma were both here at gramma’s to hear you say it. Then at bed your said, nite nite. Your first two word, words in one day. We have you saying nite nite on video, so that is so cool…………………. It’s very late, I promise I will write more tomorrow.

ASIDE
Hello my love Rian. This is Grandma, it surely has been a few month’s since I’ve written about you. A lot has been going on, but tonight I resume about your unfolding life. My camera is fixed so I can start taking photos again. And videos of you.
You are seventeen months old and mama and you just moved to Kennesaw, GA and Grandma came up here to Buford to stay with friends. It’s very hard being about forty minutes from you now, I have bonded like crazy and I miss you terribly but I will see you very soon.
I can’t even figure out how to say all the amazing things you are and the changes in you. You are definitely running around now. Some words that you say are “dapta”, we’re not sure what it means, but you are very direct when you say it and you know for sure what we’re saying, it’s just that we don’t. I asked you the other day if you’ll please tell us what that means when you get older and you said yes. Haha not really yes. But I seemed to think you agreed.
Your mama showed me an ultrasound pic of you in her womb with your eyes wide open and I can see your eyelashes. One eye. It’s an incredible picture, technology is so wonderful. I hope to blow it up and frame it soon.
The other day we went to the college campus with Uncle Casey and Auntie Jaynie, you were running around the field, you were so cute. Nothing to fall on but the winter grass, a bit wet. But fun. When we ride in the car you sing to the radio, it’s just darling. You hold one note for quite a few bars, and it just makes us smile so wide. You are so beautiful.
You are starting, and have been for a month or so or more, trying to show us when you are upset about something. You stomp your foot and toss yourself on the ground. Mama is very prompt about making sure you know that’s not acceptable behavior, which is awesome. On the same note I totally understand you are trying to communicate, your dislike for something. So, it’s always bittersweet.
You are clapping your hands. You kind of just do this twinkle toe dance across the room sometimes. You are incredibly happy and sleep pretty much through the night. You’ve been going down between 6 and 7 pm lately, which is too early because you get up at five or six am. But you sleep well and seem to have had eight cups of caffeinated coffee the split second you awake. It’s crazy. You are ready to rumble through the day while mama and I are trying to figure out how to get you to be quiet while you watch cartoons in your crib or get you back to sleep if at all possible.

Today, you walked up to me and held up your hand for me to take and proceeded outside to where mama was on the back deck. It was a spektakular moment. You are learning to communicate and it’s so amazing to watch. A couple of weeks ago you began saying , “ah” to let us know you are hungry. We always say, “ah” so you’ll open your mouth when we feed u and u now associate it with food. It’s such an honor to watch you grow up………..I love you so very much. Grandma. More pics soon.

You said, “Wow, ” for the waitress at Waffel house when Mama was in the bathroom. She said wow and then you said it too. You’ve said that a few times this week and last. You also say “ooooooo”, esp when you know you might have done something wrong like take my glasses or cell. You say Mama and Dada.

Well, this is Grandma. You have been off the bottle for a month now and had no trouble whatsoever transitioning. Two days ago you began to bring me the animal cracker jar so that I could give you some. You are getting so smart!!!This morning, you brought me the little Seahorse Jaynie gave you and put it on my bed, you then took my hand and pulled it to the seahorse so i could make it talk. So cute. You are learning so fast.

Well you are one year old now. Three days ago your clapped your hands finally!!! Yesterday doggie Charlie scratched your face on your eye, but your eye is fine. Just a small scratch on the bottom of your eye. You love sitting in your car seat when it is in the house and chewing on the straps, etc… You chew on everything and anything u can get your hands on. You come to mama. Last night it took you a few moments of thought when mama called u and then slowly you took steps and came to her. We all said, “Good Job!!!!!”. Uncle Stephen is in Anchorage right now. He moved away about two months ago for sweet Mandie. Right now you usually wake up about six or seven am. Usually seven. You will stay up a few hours then nap for one hour or so about ten. Then u will usually take an afternoon nap. Bedtime is between 7 and 9. You will just get cranky and unconsolable, we know u want a milk bottle and bed. Or you will rub your eyes, or WALK BACKWARD. It’s the funniest thing, but yes you walk backward when you are tired. A sure sign it’s bedtime.
Grandma watches you when mama is at work. I’ve been going that full-time since April 30th. It’s been super hot this summer so we have been mostly inside all summer. But it will get cooler hopefully sometime soon and we’ll start taking walks……………..
You pretty much eat what we do. Mashed peas or sweet potatoes. Raviolis, or we just mush up whatever we’re eating. Eggs, sphagetti, just about anything. PB sandwich, grilled cheese. You started spitting out the food, letting us know you are done. So we usually don’t give you another bite once u spit it out. You have a good healthy appetite. You drink whole milk and juice, you don’t like water very much.

It’s Grandma.
You are almost a year old now. You stopped using your walker last month, at ten months. You are walking everywhere now with pretty much no trouble. Last night you slept 12 hours without waking up for a bottle, I think you must be growing. You are trying to say a lot of words, mama is the best one so far. You say dada too. You copy and mimick all kinds of sounds that everyone does. Grrrrr , I say grrrrr to you and you definitely do the same sound. It’s so cute. You usually go to bed between 7 and 9pm. And up by 6am or 7. You have been on milk for a month, no more formula. You eat just about all of what we eat. Mashed sweet potatoes, peas, cheese, crackers, fruit, etc… You usually have oatmeal or cream of wheat in the mornings. You are picking up food and putting it in your mouth by yourself, you’ve been doing this at least a month. Uncle Stephen left about a month ago for Alaska to finish school. Mama, Uncle KC, Jaynie and Grandma live in his new house that he bought here in Canton. And you too! When it rains Grama takes you outside and we stand in the rain, you don’t seem to mind, it’s just been so hot the last 2 mos, like in the nineties and pretty humid.
You try to sing when we listen to videos. It’s so darn cute. Clearly you are holding the sounds longer just like singing, it’s darling. You have four teeth on the top and two on the bottom and you can now bite into things, like a nutrigrain bar, cracker, etc…
You try to climb up the stairs here in the house, but u know better. You listen very well, and know your name.

First Steps
Last week you took your first steps. You can walk about five feet or four with no help at all. It’s so fun to watch you grow. You are keeping mama and us all real buzy. You said, “Nomore” yesterday when grama was feeding you. I said, “No more”” and you said it right after me. So far you say, dada, which was first. Mama. You waved bye to grandma a couple of weeks ago and have done it a few times since. Other people are going to have to add to this blog because we all remember different things. You are sleeping a lot longer through the night, but not all the way. We gave you a baby drink with milk two days ago and you took it just fine. We are about to move out of Grandma’s basement apartment to Uncle Stephen’s new house in Canton. We are all so excited. In 2 days.
You are basically eating baby food right now and on formula. When you turn one you won’t have to be on formula anymore and can drink milk. More soon…

Rian’s first STEPS
Yesterday and the day before Rian took his first steps by himself. He is still a little wobbly, but they were steps. Wow. He has three almost four teeth. His first two bottom teeth came in about one month ago.

Hello world!
Rian is my grandson, he is eight months old and I just need to start blogging his progress and babyhood. Rian’s Song similar to “Elmo’s Song” and even rhymes with Brian’s Song, for you older folk’s you’ll know the tune. Just thought it was cute. We all went to the Mirimar Air Show and you, Ri, managed to do seventeen hours awake, with no stroller, and only a 20 min cat nap on the way home. Grandma Patty, Brian, Mommy and Grandma and you. It was probably 95 degrees, extremely hot, but fun.
Rian you are in your first few months of Pre-School at Wendy's Backyard Adventures in Escondido. Mommy is in school right now at Bellus Academy and you've been in daycare for about sixish months or so. Can't remember when you first started. You are four years and two months old.
